SaaS or Service-as-a-Software is one of the latest buzzwords on the market. It applies to software solutions which are sold on-demand, with some level of customisation and support, or through subscription for some hosted applications.

Prosumer offers quick path to providing "SaaS" solutions for range of potential business applications. There are range of templates available as well, bringing the barriers lower for adopting such strategies. (forum admins are still figuring out how to upload them here...well..."email and get one then" might work as well)

Would be interesting to know, how these SaaS services are marketed. Since once its up and running - somehow people need to know about it. Perhaps ad on Google?

The average pricing seems to fall around a monthly fee of 20 - 75 USD. This means that basically a decent value can be created reasonably fast.

Bloor Research, a firm renowned for its expert opinions, evaluated Prosumer. Some findings in the report (.pdf):

We did some last minute changes into the licensing scheme, making it a bit more simple. You have now two choices, either Personal or Professional version. The latter gives additional features on asset protection, through locking deployment to specific IP/URL.
